Salisbury secured a convincing 4-1 victory over Taunton Town in Brian Dutton’s milestone 200th match as manager on Saturday. Despite falling behind midway through the first half, the home side staged a strong comeback at the Salisbury City Stadium to claim all three points.

Taunton Town took an early lead when Dan Koita scored against the run of play. However, Salisbury quickly responded and drew level around the 30-minute mark. Jaiden Bartolo, recently called up by Gibraltar for international duty, remained composed to finish after Caine Bradbury’s corner was not cleared by the visitors. Bartolo nearly added a second soon after, but Taunton goalkeeper Freddie Godden made a sharp save to tip a curling effort from Josh Hedges over the bar.

Bartolo doubled his tally before halftime, skillfully evading the goalkeeper after receiving a precise pass from Jordan Alonge, slotting the ball into an empty net. The hosts maintained their intensity after the break, with Dan Ellison coming close when he headed a free kick from Hedges onto the post.

Salisbury’s third goal, scored in the 57th minute, was noteworthy for a slick one-two play between Hedges and Bartolo, culminating in Hedges placing a low finish into the corner of the net. The home side had further opportunities to extend their lead, but Ollie Morgan was unable to capitalize on a promising chance created by substitute Robbie Gallagher.

The scoring was rounded out in stoppage time by Mo Dabre, sealing Salisbury’s dominant performance. The victory marked a positive landmark for Dutton, who celebrated his 200th game with a display that showcased resilience and attacking fluency.
