Sam Fender has reduced ticket prices for his upcoming Proper Massive tour following widespread criticism over what many fans considered excessive costs. Initially, tickets for his Wembley shows were priced between £64.75 and £130.75 for seated options, with front standing tickets at £130 and general standing tickets at £98.85. After acknowledging that prices had been “well more than I’d had in mind” and should only reflect the costs of staging the event, Fender intervened to adjust the pricing structure.
The revised ticket prices now set general admission standing tickets at £85, with seated options priced at £95, £75, and £55. These figures do not include additional charges such as venue and ticket company fees or the £1 contribution to Live Trust, an organization supporting grassroots music venues. Fender’s decision to remove front standing tickets entirely was met with approval, earning him praise from fans who commended his response as considerate and consumer-friendly.
While Fender’s move was welcomed, it also sparked renewed calls from fans for Harry Styles to reduce ticket prices for his Together, Together tour. Standing tickets for Styles’s upcoming Wembley shows next year range from £146 to £281. This comes in the wake of a backlash against ticket prices for Styles’s Wembley concerts this summer, where some prices soared as high as £466. Fans widely criticized these costs as “insane.”
In response to concerns about ticket pricing, Styles’s team stated last month that the Together, Together tour is implementing measures to increase transparency in pricing for fans. However, fans continue to urge the former One Direction member to follow Fender’s example by lowering ticket prices to more accessible levels. The controversy highlights ongoing debates within the live music industry about balancing fair access with the economic realities of event production.
