The Saratoga Race Course held a full card of competitive events on Friday, marking the 13th day of the meet with a mix of stakes and allowance races that drew notable entries across multiple distances and surfaces.

In the 7-furlong maiden claiming race for fillies three years and older, Camille’s Legacy, ridden by Katie Davis and trained by Duggan, drew attention following a single prior dirt start that saw the horse finish last in a small field. The race featured several contenders with varied recent performances, including the morning-line favorite Two by Two by Two, who switched to dirt for trainer Cox and was piloted by jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. Another strong contender was Oath, lasting seven furlongs under M. Franco for trainer Rice.

The day’s turf action spotlighted a 1 1/16-mile maiden race for two-year-old fillies. Just Peachy, stretching out under jockey Flavien Prat for Brissett, came off a solid runner-up finish in her debut and was among the leading choices. Margie’s Girl, making her grass debut with McPeek, and first-time starters such as Conflict (Cox/Irad Ortiz Jr./Golden Pal), Mandy Steph (Clement/Franco/Constitution), and Celebrate (Pletcher/Johnny V./Medaglia d’Oro) were considered live contenders.

In an allowance event over one mile for fillies three years and older, My Gun’s Loaded showed promise returning to a longer trip for Chad Brown, having earned a decisive win at Saratoga in June. Other notable entrants included Nycon with new rider T. Gaffalione making a Lasix debut, Soundbite aiming to end a winless streak, and Bow Draw, stepping up with jockey Ortiz and trainer Asmussen.

The one-mile claiming race for older horses featured Glen Airy, shipping in from Churchill Downs and moving down in class for trainer Maker. Jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. was named to ride with blinkers added to the equipment. Another contender was Neon Bordeaux, a strong sprinter switching to a slightly longer distance, with Flavien Prat aboard for Dutrow.

Among the shorter-distance claiming events, Rumblyoungmanrumbl sought to repeat a recent breakthrough win under jockey Ortiz Jr. The six-and-a-half-furlong sprint also included Swaging making a dirt return for Linda Rice, and Reside cutting back in distance aiming for a late run.

The day’s 5 ½-furlong turf maiden for two-year-old fillies featured several promising debut runners, including Runaway Bride under Gaffalione for Beckman, and Without Hesitation with Ortiz representing Ward. Breaker, Quartz Mountain, and Sound of Madness rounded out competitive newcomers.

Closing out featured races was a competitive 1 1/16-mile allowance on the turf for fillies three years and older. Mommy’s Turn, who won the Suzie O’Cain Stakes last summer at Saratoga, entered with Flavien Prat riding for Chad Brown as a leading choice. Other prominent entrants included Nonna Lynne, Starship Pegasus—winner of two of her last three starts—and Hello Beauty, winless on turf but expected to be forwardly placed on the lead.

Results from earlier races included Credit Risk capturing the 7-furlong maiden claiming event with a $52,000 purse, and Gun Brrt City prevailing by a narrow margin in the 1 1/16-mile $65,000 claiming event. In allowance company at a mile and one furlong, Salamis secured a decisive victory for trainer Rice under Flavien Prat.

Overall, the day at Saratoga showcased developing talent among two-year-olds alongside seasoned older horses, with trainers and jockeys making strategic equipment changes and distance shifts as the meet progresses toward its late summer crescendo.
