Saudi customs authorities at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam intercepted a shipment containing 40,000 amphetamine pills concealed within glass cups. The parcel, which arrived via postal mail, underwent routine customs inspection when the narcotics were discovered.

Hamoud Al-Harbi, spokesperson for the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA), stated that advanced security technology and detection methods were employed to examine the contents of the shipment. The concealed pills were hidden inside the glassware, prompting authorities to halt the package before it could enter the country.

The seizure reflects ongoing efforts by Saudi customs to prevent the illegal importation of controlled substances through international mail channels. Authorities continue to enhance screening protocols at key entry points to detect and thwart drug smuggling attempts. Investigations into the origin and intended destination of the parcel are underway.
