Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health has recognized the medical unit of the Qatari Haj Mission for its efficient preparations and comprehensive healthcare services provided during the 1447 AH Haj season. The award, presented at a ceremony for medical offices serving Haj delegations, underscores the unit’s role in establishing an advanced healthcare system for Qatari pilgrims.
The event took place under the patronage of Eng Abdullah bin Ali al-Nuaim, deputy minister for licensing and compliance at the Saudi Health Ministry. Dr. Khalid Abdulhadi, head of the medical unit of the Qatari Haj Mission, accepted the certificate of appreciation on behalf of the delegation.
The commendation highlighted the unit’s extensive preparations and medical infrastructure, which were developed according to rigorous medical and organizational standards. This included the deployment of fully equipped field clinics for both men and women in Makkah Al Mukarramah and the nearby holy sites, designed to support pilgrims throughout the duration of the pilgrimage.
The medical unit staffed these clinics with specialized medical and nursing personnel covering a wide range of disciplines, including family medicine, emergency care, infectious diseases, ear, nose and throat medicine, pharmacy, and paramedic services. This multidisciplinary approach ensured constant preventive and treatment services were available 24 hours a day during the Haj season.
The Qatari Haj Mission noted that the honor reflects the success of its operational strategies and the early preparations undertaken by the medical unit. It emphasized that the integrated system functioned with a high level of coordination among the mission’s various administrative, technical, medical, and service departments, demonstrating Qatar’s ongoing commitment to the health and safety of its pilgrims as they perform their religious duties.
