Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Abdullah Al-Khateeb, initiated a series of discussions with prominent leaders from global technology and investment firms during the opening day of his visit to Silicon Valley, California. The engagements centered on enhancing investment flows and forging partnerships in key areas such as artificial intelligence, advanced computing technologies, and other deep-tech sectors.

Among the meetings, Al-Khateeb held talks with Alfred Lin, a partner at Sequoia Capital, focusing on expanding the venture capital firm’s involvement in Saudi Arabia’s burgeoning AI and deep technology markets. The discussions aimed to connect Sequoia’s existing portfolio companies with Hunaim, Saudi Arabia’s high-performance computing platform, to facilitate the growth and international expansion of Saudi startups.

These initiatives align with Saudi Arabia’s broader agenda to diversify its technology sector, support domestic innovation, and position its companies competitively in the global market. The minister’s visit underscores the kingdom’s interest in leveraging international investment and expertise to accelerate the development of its digital infrastructure and tech ecosystem.
