Oman’s Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi, received the credentials of new envoys representing the World Health Organization (WHO), Jordan, and Türkiye on October 5, 2026, in Muscat.

Sayyid Badr accepted the credentials of Dr. Asmus Hammerich, the WHO Representative to Oman, during a formal meeting. The Foreign Minister expressed Oman’s commitment to continued collaboration with the WHO, highlighting the importance of joint efforts to enhance health initiatives and achieve shared objectives. Dr. Hammerich, in turn, acknowledged the strong cooperation between Oman and the WHO to date and expressed his intent to deepen the partnership and expand cooperation in the coming period.

In separate sessions, Sayyid Badr also received the credentials of Zaid Abdel Karim Abu Hassan, Ambassador-designate of Jordan to Oman, and Huseyin Ergani, Ambassador-designate of Türkiye to Oman. The Foreign Minister welcomed both ambassadors, wishing them success in their new roles and underscoring Oman’s desire to strengthen bilateral relations with the two countries to foster growth and prosperity.

The credentialing meetings were attended by senior officials from Oman's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah al Qatabi, Head of the International Organisations Department; Najib bin Yahya al Balushi, Head of the Protocol Department; and Dr. Saleh bin Amir al Kharusi, Head of the Arab Department. Representatives from the respective diplomatic missions were also present.
