Trawlerman, however, maintains a 6-pound lead over the remainder of the field, which includes Roger Varian’s Rahiebb, the St Leger third. Notably, Rahiebb finished 24 lengths behind the leading duo in the Gold Cup, underscoring the dominance of Scandinavia and Trawlerman.

Scandinavia arrives at Goodwood as the defending champion of the event, having won the Goodwood Cup as a three-year-old last year. His proven ability to handle the quirks of the Goodwood track adds to his credentials, which makes him a formidable candidate for the race.

In addition to the Goodwood Cup, Ballydoyle is also represented by Haffner in the Vintage Stakes. Although Charlie Appleby’s Al Hudaiba enters that contest as the favorite, Haffner’s impressive victory in a Newmarket maiden has caught the attention of observers.
