The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Education has announced its academic calendar for the 2026-2027 school year, which will include 185 teaching days for schools following the national curriculum. The schedule affects both government schools and private institutions adhering to the Ministry’s guidelines.

According to the announced calendar, teachers are set to return to work on August 24, with students starting classes one week later, on August 31. The school year will span 37 weeks and is divided into three terms: the first term lasting 13 weeks, followed by two terms of 12 weeks each.

The winter break for students is scheduled to begin on December 14. Teaching and administrative staff will continue with academic and operational duties until December 21, after which they will commence their holiday period. A spring break for both students and school employees will start on April 5, 2027.

The academic year will conclude for students on July 2. However, teachers and administrative personnel will remain engaged until July 16 to complete examination grading, finalize end-of-year administrative responsibilities, and prepare for the upcoming academic cycle.

This calendar provides a structured framework for the academic activities of the coming school year, ensuring alignment across public and private educational sectors adhering to the Ministry of Education’s standards.
