Scotland captain Andy Robertson has shared a unique memento gifted to him by football legend Kenny Dalglish: a bottle of Buckfast tonic wine signed by singer Lewis Capaldi. The bottle occupies a special place in Robertson’s trophy cabinet alongside his more conventional honours.

The 32-year-old defender, who recently departed Liverpool after nine years at the club, displayed the item during a documentary about his career titled *Robbo: My Liverpool*. The programme, released following his final appearance for the Reds, also featured Robertson’s collection of medals, including the 2019 UEFA Champions League trophy, numerous Scotland caps, and various man-of-the-match awards.

Recalling the origins of the notable Buckfast bottle, Robertson explained that Dalglish, Scotland’s all-time leading goalscorer, attended a Lewis Capaldi concert where the singer signed the wine. Dalglish then presented the bottle to Robertson at Liverpool’s training ground, an unusual but memorable gesture for the left-back. “It’s not every day you get passed a Buckfast by Kenny, so I’ll take it,” Robertson said, reflecting on the moment.

Robertson’s tenure at Liverpool encompassed a highly successful period, with the club securing two Premier League titles and the Champions League crown. His final match for Liverpool came on Sunday against Brentford at Anfield, marking the end of a significant chapter in his career.

Looking ahead, Robertson’s focus will shift to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where Scotland, under manager Steve Clarke, aim to advance beyond the group stage for the first time. The team faces challenging competition in Group C against Haiti, Morocco, and Brazil, with matches set to take place in the United States.
