Scott Lincoln, the British shot put athlete, is aiming to secure a medal at this week’s European Championships held at Birmingham’s Alexander Stadium. Lincoln, 33, recently co-captained Team England’s athletics squad at the Commonwealth Games, where he won a bronze medal. As one of the leading figures in the Novuna GB & NI team, which comprises 98 athletes, Lincoln is considered a strong contender on home soil.

Joining Lincoln in the British squad is his partner, Freya Jones, the 32-year-old national javelin champion. The couple will be competing together at a major championship for the first time. Lincoln expressed enthusiasm about supporting Jones throughout the event, noting that she is an athlete to watch during the competition.

Lincoln acknowledged the challenge ahead but remains optimistic about his chances. “I want to win it. It will be a tough ask, but I don’t see why not. Everyone there is beatable, so if not the win, then it’s a medal I want to push for,” he said.
