The Seattle Seahawks have placed key players on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list as they prepare for the upcoming NFL season during training camp. Running back Zach Charbonnet, who tore his ACL in the divisional playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers, was designated to the PUP list prior to camp. His injury is expected to sideline him for a significant portion of the season.
In addition, standout safety Nick Emmanwori was also placed on the PUP list after undergoing recent ankle surgery. Despite this, team officials expressed optimism that Emmanwori will be able to participate in the Seahawks’ season opener, scheduled for Wednesday, September 9, against the New England Patriots. Emmanwori reportedly sustained a low ankle sprain just days before the Super Bowl but continued to play through the injury.
The decisions to place both players on the PUP list reflect the Seahawks’ cautious approach to managing player health heading into the early stages of the season. While Charbonnet’s recovery timeline remains uncertain, Emmanwori’s status will be closely monitored as the team progresses through training camp.
