Gardaí conducted security checks in and around Phoenix Park on Thursday ahead of the scheduled visit by US President Donald Trump this weekend. Members of the Garda water unit inspected ponds and waterways near Áras an Uachtaráin and Farmleigh House as part of preparatory measures for the President’s arrival.

Trump is expected to land in Dublin early Friday morning before traveling to Phoenix Park for a meeting with President Catherine Connolly and Taoiseach Micheal Martin. Following the engagements, he is scheduled to proceed to his golf resort in Doonbeg, County Clare, which is hosting the Irish Open golf tournament. The event will continue through Sunday and is set to remain at the Doonbeg venue until 2026.

In anticipation of the visit, An Garda Síochána announced that Phoenix Park would be closed to the public from 11 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, until 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 12. All gates and roads within the park will be inaccessible during this period. The closure includes the Dublin Zoo, Phoenix Park Visitor Centre, and the Magazine Fort, with no recreational access permitted.
