Singapore-based security robotics firm Kabam Robotics announced it will cease operations on November 20. The company informed its customers of the decision through an email, in which it expressed gratitude for their support and apologized for any inconvenience caused. Kabam also advised clients requiring assistance to reach out before the closure date.
No reasons were provided for the shutdown, and the company has not disclosed the number of employees affected or the future of its existing customer contracts and robot deployments. Kabam’s LinkedIn profile lists 54 employees. Efforts to obtain comment from the company were not immediately successful.
Founded in 2020 as a robotics venture by Singapore’s Patec Group—a precision engineering firm listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange—Kabam merged with local robotics start-up Cognicpet Systems in 2022. The company specialised in artificial intelligence-powered security robotics and management software designed for video surveillance and autonomous patrolling in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Kabam’s client portfolio included prominent organisations such as security firms Aetos and Certis, as well as Changi Airport Group, JTC Corporation, Amazon Web Services, and Mandai Wildlife Group. Its robots have been deployed in locations including Jewel Changi Airport, Paya Lebar Quarter Mall, and the Toa Payoh HDB Hub. As of 2023, more than 150 Kabam robots operated globally and within Singapore.
The company’s closure occurs amid ongoing government initiatives to bolster Singapore’s robotics industry. Kabam was among the first cohort of companies supported by RoboNexus, an accelerator pilot programme launched under the National Robotics Programme in September 2024. Established officially in March 2025, this programme aims to assist local robotics start-ups through mentorship, business development, and international market access. Kabam was one of two firms to utilise RoboNexus’s research and talent resources during product development.
