Thieves in Tuscany have stolen approximately 30,000 bottles of wine valued at an estimated €5 million ($8 million) from the Marchesi Antinori winery, one of Italy’s most prestigious producers. The theft occurred last weekend and is believed to be the largest wine heist in the country's history, according to the winery.

The stolen bottles included three of Marchesi Antinori’s most renowned red wines: Tignanello, Solaia, and Guado al Tasso. These labels typically retail for between €120 ($190) and €300 ($480) per bottle or higher, reflecting their status as prized collectibles among connoisseurs and investors.

The winery emphasized the significance of the loss, noting that these wines are among their most iconic offerings and hold considerable appeal for collectors due to their rarity and quality. Local authorities are currently investigating the incident as part of ongoing efforts to recover the stolen inventory and pursue those responsible.
