A senior commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) has declared that Iran has secured a "strategic victory" in its conflict with the United States, asserting that Washington and its allies failed to achieve their objectives. Brigadier General Yadollah Javani, IRGC Deputy Commander for Political Affairs, made these remarks during an event in Bandar Abbas on Tuesday.

Javani said that the adversary initially anticipated that a swift and intense military campaign would destabilize Iran’s political, defense, and security frameworks and fracture national unity. However, he argued these expectations were not realized, and Iran emerged stronger from the confrontation, which he linked to the recent Ramadan War.

“The enemy launched the war with the aim of weakening and collapsing the Islamic Republic; but today, by the admission and assessment of many around the world, Islamic Iran is stronger than it was before the war,” Javani stated. He described the initial phase of the conflict as a rapid military offensive that sought quick results but ultimately fell short of achieving its goals.

Javani referenced the Iranian people’s rallying cry of “Allahu Akbar” (God is the Greatest), suggesting that this spiritual trust contributed to Iran’s resilience against the adversary’s efforts. He also cited the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, noting that Khomeini had insisted that pressure and threats from the United States would not prevail over Iran.

According to the IRGC official, the failure of the military approach led the opposing side to adopt a strategy of “hybrid warfare.” This approach involves economic sanctions, maritime and aerial restrictions, and attempts to weaken public morale and national resilience. Javani characterized these methods as longstanding tactics used against Iran over the past four decades.

Despite these continuing pressures, Javani said the Iranian people have consistently demonstrated their capacity to endure and overcome challenges, reinforcing national cohesion and preserving Iran’s political independence and defense strength.

He concluded that the outcome of the conflict should be viewed beyond military terms alone, emphasizing Iran’s ability to maintain sovereignty and unity amid sustained external pressure.
