Scotland welcomed its first Sephora store on July 9 as the global beauty retailer opened its doors in Edinburgh’s St James Quarter, attracting large crowds of shoppers. This launch marks a significant milestone in Sephora UK’s ongoing expansion across the country, making Edinburgh the 15th location nationwide and the first in Scotland. The new store occupies approximately 4,961 square feet and offers a wide range of exclusive products from internationally recognized beauty brands.

The opening event featured live entertainment, including performances by the Red Hot Chilli Pipers, DJ Lu, and drag artist Sally Saint Scot, creating a festive atmosphere for visitors. Sephora UK has also planned a series of special in-store experiences and giveaways throughout the opening weekend. Customers making purchases between July 9 and July 11 receive a Beauty Bonus Card, which offers the chance to win various prizes.

In addition to product sales, the Edinburgh location offers personalized makeup services, with customers able to redeem the cost of appointments against product purchases made on the same day. The store is integrated with the Sephora UK app, where shoppers can access exclusive offers and join the MySephora loyalty program.

The arrival of Sephora in Scotland was met with enthusiasm from both customers and company officials. Christina Hill, a shopper from Fife visiting with her husband, expressed excitement about finally being able to visit a Sephora store in person. Sephora UK’s managing director, Sarah Boyd, noted that Scotland had been one of the most requested locations by the brand’s community and highlighted Edinburgh’s vibrant beauty culture and diverse visitors as key reasons for selecting the city.

Following the Edinburgh opening, Sephora UK is preparing to launch a store in Glasgow’s Silverburn shopping centre in August, with plans for two additional UK openings later in 2026. The retailer’s expansion reflects growing demand for its products and services across the UK market.
