The Serdal Leadership and Skills Development Programme launched its first phase nationwide on Tuesday, marking a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Education, OQ, and Oman Sail. This initiative aims to equip Omani students with essential leadership and life skills to better prepare them for the challenges of a rapidly evolving world.
Funded by OQ, a global energy investment group, and delivered in partnership with Oman Sail, the programme forms part of a broader strategy aligned with the goals of Oman Vision 2040. It focuses on building national capabilities by offering high-quality educational experiences that foster self-confidence, responsibility, and independence among youth.
The programme engages a total of 188 students from various governorates across Oman, targeting specific school grades to maximize its educational impact. Participants will undergo a comprehensive learning journey that combines practical challenges, marine-based activities, and other experiential learning opportunities designed to develop character, communication, teamwork, leadership, and decision-making skills.
Through applied learning and personal development exercises, the Serdal programme seeks to cultivate the potential of young Omanis in innovative settings. Organizers emphasize its role in promoting initiative and responsibility, aiming to prepare the next generation to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s future.
The initiative reflects OQ’s ongoing commitment to human capital development and the enhancement of Oman’s national capabilities, reinforcing the country’s vision for sustainable growth and social progress.
