Simon Levy, 40, has been accused of a series of sexual assaults and two murders involving vulnerable women, predominantly sex workers, during an alleged eight-month crime spree in 2025. The trial is ongoing at the Old Bailey in London.

Prosecutor Tom Little KC described Levy as a "serial sexual predator" who carried out multiple attacks between January and August 2025. The charges include two counts of murder, two counts of rape, and additional charges of grievous bodily harm and intentional suffocation. The alleged victims include a woman who cannot be named for legal reasons, as well as Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo, 53, and Sheryl Wilkins, 39.

According to the prosecution, Levy targeted women he perceived as vulnerable because of their involvement in sex work and drug use, believing he would evade detection. One attack detailed involved Levy allegedly raping a woman in a car park in Tottenham, north London, in January 2025. Officials said he restrained her by placing a finger down her throat to prevent her from making noise. The woman contends that the encounter was non-consensual, while Levy denies harming her, maintaining the sexual contact was consensual.

Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo’s body was discovered on March 17, 2025, in a stairwell on a near-derelict housing estate in Walworth, southeast London. Levy was arrested in connection with her death on April 1 but was initially released. In August, Sheryl Wilkins was also found dead in the same Tottenham car park where the first alleged rape occurred. CCTV footage reportedly captured Wilkins disappearing behind a wall with Levy followed by a series of suspicious actions, including removing his rucksack.

Pathologists have been unable to establish the causes of death for both Valencia-Trujillo and Wilkins, and the defence argues that the women may have died from drug-related causes rather than foul play. Siobhan Grey KC, representing Levy, asserted that the first alleged victim is not truthful and denied Levy’s involvement in the deaths of Valencia-Trujillo and Wilkins. The defence highlighted that Wilkins had pre-existing bruising and marks on her body prior to the alleged incidents.

Levy, a Tottenham resident, has a history of sexual assault convictions, with 13 previous offenses relating to sexual violence. He denies all charges, including murder, rape, grievous bodily harm, and intentional suffocation.

The trial continues as the court examines evidence and hears further testimony relating to the allegations.
