A serving police officer from Greater Manchester has been named Miss Manchester, securing a place in the upcoming Miss England final. PC Tara Sampson, 24, who has been with Greater Manchester Police for over a year, was crowned in the regional competition held recently. The event guarantees her participation in the national final scheduled for November 17 in Leicester.
Originally from Chorley, Lancashire, Sampson stepped into the pageant world for the first time with no prior modeling experience. She said the experience allowed her to embrace a different side of herself beyond her role in law enforcement. “My colleagues have been super supportive and encouraging,” she said, noting her enjoyment in trading her uniform for evening wear. Sampson described herself as “a very girly girl” at heart and expressed pride in representing Manchester.
Sampson also highlighted the opportunity to use her platform to motivate others. “I’m so proud to represent the city and to have the opportunity to use this platform to inspire others to believe in themselves,” she said.
The Miss England final will bring together regional winners from across the country to compete for the national title. Sampson’s success reflects a growing trend of professionals from varied backgrounds participating in beauty pageants, challenging traditional perceptions of the contestants.
Greater Manchester Police have not commented officially on Sampson’s participation, but colleagues have reportedly shown strong support for her endeavors outside of policing.
