A seven-month-old kitten named Smidge is currently available for adoption through Second Chance Animal Rescue in Craigieburn. Smidge entered the shelter as a three-week-old orphan and has faced developmental challenges since then, according to Marisa Debattista, founder and CEO of the rescue organization. She described the kitten as smaller than average for his age and noted that he requires an adopter willing to provide additional care and support.

Second Chance Animal Rescue is home to numerous animals, including cats and dogs, that are awaiting new homes. To encourage adoptions, the organization participated in a recent initiative in partnership with Pedigree, which covered half of all adoption fees through its Global Adoption Weekend. Ms. Debattista urged interested individuals to visit the shelter before the offer ended, highlighting the importance of finding permanent homes for the animals in their care.

The rescue continues its efforts to support vulnerable animals like Smidge, emphasizing the need for commitment and compassion from adopters who are prepared to accommodate pets with special needs.
