A 24-year-old man from Kingswood, South Gloucestershire, has been placed on the sex offenders’ register following a series of foot-related sexual assaults on young girls. Alexander Scott-Bowen was convicted at Bristol Crown Court after being linked to the offenses through DNA evidence.

Authorities say Scott-Bowen would initiate lengthy conversations about feet or shoes with his victims before proceeding to touch or sniff their feet. The incidents came to light after his arrest in March 2025. Evidence gathered during the investigation included a shoelace sample taken from a victim’s trainers, which was matched to Scott-Bowen’s DNA.

In January 2026, police made a further arrest and confiscated Scott-Bowen’s mobile phone, discovering material consistent with a foot fetish. Avon and Somerset Police described the findings as indicative of his offending pattern.

Scott-Bowen pleaded guilty to sexual assault charges. At sentencing, he received a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and was sentenced to 38 weeks in custody. However, he was released immediately, having already served that time on remand.

The case highlights the challenges in detecting and prosecuting non-contact or unusual forms of sexual offense, and law enforcement agencies continue to emphasize vigilance in protecting vulnerable individuals from such predatory behavior.
