Shania Twain declined an invitation to perform at Taylor Swift’s wedding in order to honor her commitment as an opening act for Harry Styles during his sold-out residency at Wembley Stadium in London. The 60-year-old singer supported Styles throughout his 12-night run from June 12 to July 4 as part of his Together, Together tour.

Twain revealed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that her decision to join Styles for the London shows prevented her from attending Swift’s wedding to NFL player Travis Kelce, which took place at Madison Square Garden in New York on July 3. “I was very honoured to be invited to Taylor’s wedding and next time I see her, I will of course give her a big congratulations,” Twain said. She also praised Swift’s musicianship and storytelling, calling her “a remarkable artist.”

The Canadian country-pop star has regularly collaborated with Styles, having performed alongside him previously at Coachella in 2022 and the Brit Awards in 2023. Twain recalled their initial meeting backstage at a small show early in Styles’s career, describing how they exchanged contact information following the event. She added that Styles later asked her to wish his mother a happy birthday over the phone, noting that his mother was responsible for introducing him to Twain’s music.

Twain appeared on the Tonight Show to promote her upcoming album, Little Miss Twain, scheduled for release on July 24.

Reports indicate that Swift and Kelce’s wedding was attended by roughly 1,000 guests, including celebrities such as Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Graham Norton, Ed Sheeran, Hugh Grant, and Ethan Hawke. In October 2025, Swift made a playful remark on Graham Norton’s BBC chat show, joking that she intended to invite “anyone I’ve ever talked to” to her wedding following her engagement announcement.
