Meerut, Uttar Pradesh — A sharpshooter associated with the Munir gang was killed during a police encounter in Meerut, officials said. The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) engaged in the clash, which resulted in the death of the accused, identified as Zuber. Authorities had placed a reward of 100,000 rupees on his capture.

During the encounter, law enforcement recovered two pistols and sharp weapons from the scene. The operation aimed to dismantle the criminal network linked to Munir gang members operating in the region.

Local police have not disclosed further details about the encounter’s circumstances but confirmed the successful neutralization of a wanted gang member. The STF’s involvement highlights ongoing efforts to curb organized crime in Uttar Pradesh.
