Sholing secured a late equalizer to draw 1-1 with Frome Town in a closely contested match at the Special Effect Stadium on Saturday. The home side opened the scoring early when George Dowling curled a shot from distance into the net just four minutes into the game.

Frome Town maintained pressure following the opener and came close to extending their lead on two occasions. Albie Hopkins struck the post after some skillful play from Callum Gould in the penalty area, and shortly thereafter, Archie Ferris hit the crossbar with another threatening attempt. Despite their offensive efforts, Sholing were unable to test goalkeeper Joe Phillips during the first half.

The visitors improved their performance after the break, showing greater intent in attack. Olly Pendlebury produced a notable chance from a short corner routine, forcing Phillips to make a low save to his left. Sholing gained a significant advantage when Frome defender Brendan Holmes was sent off for a second bookable offense, reducing the hosts to ten men.

Taking advantage of the numerical superiority, Sholing’s Thabo Kuaho found space behind the defense late in the match and calmly converted the equalizer, slotting the ball past Phillips. The goal secured a valuable point for Sholing as the match ended in a draw.
