Boston police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Friday night at an apartment complex in Allston. Officers responded shortly after 10:30 p.m. to reports of a man suffering from a gunshot wound inside a building at 20 Rugg Road. Emergency medical personnel provided treatment at the scene before transporting the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased, and no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. The investigation remains ongoing.

The shooting took place at The Harper, a mid-rise apartment complex comprising 265 units. The building, which offers income-restricted housing, opened in August 2025 in an area of lower Allston that was previously industrial. Attempts to reach The Harper’s management office for comment were unsuccessful as of Saturday.

Police continue to seek information from the public and have not provided further details regarding a motive or suspect at this time.
