Sharif Kadir Doli Sharif, a 36-year-old local entertainer, has transformed a childhood passion for Bollywood music into a profitable side career, performing Hindi songs at weddings and Bollywood-themed events across Malaysia. Known professionally as Sharif Zero, he balances this alongside his primary roles as an emcee, actor, and comedian.

Sharif credits his late father, Doli Sharif, for sparking his interest in Bollywood melodies. As a child, he would listen to Hindi music cassettes purchased by his father, often enjoying them at a neighbour’s house. The first song he mastered was from the popular Bollywood film *Kuch Kuch Hota Hai*, which marked the beginning of a lasting appreciation for the genre.

Unlike some artists who rely on lip-syncing, Sharif performs live, emphasizing the authenticity of his singing. His Bollywood renditions have gained significant attention on social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram, drawing praise from audiences not only in Malaysia but also in other ASEAN countries. This growing online recognition has contributed to a steady increase in his live performance bookings.

Sharif noted that his calendar is increasingly filled with engagements to sing Hindi songs at various private and public functions, reflecting a rising demand for Bollywood-themed entertainment in the region. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to supplement his income through his singing talents, which complement his broader work in entertainment.

Through this blend of nostalgia and performance, Sharif Zero has carved out a niche that celebrates Bollywood culture while expanding his professional repertoire.
