Siraj, an educational initiative under Qatar Foundation’s Pre-University Education, showcased its role in promoting Arabic language learning at the BilAraby Annual Gathering 2026. The event, held recently under the theme “With Our Ideas, We Build,” convened educators, cultural experts, and Arabic language advocates to explore strategies for enhancing the language’s presence and engagement.

During an interactive workshop, the Siraj team outlined the program’s approach to combining educational content with entertainment to support Arabic language acquisition among children. They provided a retrospective on the development of Siraj’s content across its nine previous seasons, emphasizing its evolution and impact over the past decade. This year’s involvement marked the 10th anniversary of the program, underscoring its sustained commitment to making Arabic learning more accessible and enjoyable.

Buthina al-Derham, director of Communication and Outreach at QF’s Pre-University Education, highlighted the initiative’s focus on fostering key language skills, including listening, speaking, and reading. She noted that Siraj’s content is designed not only for children but also as a resource for educators and parents to reinforce Arabic language use both inside and outside the classroom. According to al-Derham, this dual approach helps integrate Arabic more deeply into children's daily routines.

The program utilizes storytelling, engaging characters, and educational scenarios to present Arabic in ways that resonate with children’s interests and experiences. This methodology aims to strengthen both language proficiency and cultural identity, offering versatile tools that accommodate different learning environments.
