A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has submitted a detailed chargesheet in court against Ashok Kharat, also known as "Captain," in connection with two of eight registered cases of sexual assault filed against him. The chargesheet, exceeding 2,000 pages, was presented on Thursday and includes statements from 105 witnesses.

The SIT was constituted on March 20, 2026, under the orders of the Maharashtra Director General of Police to conduct a special probe into 11 related criminal cases involving Kharat. Investigators have collected various forms of evidence, including oral testimonies, physical materials, documents, and electronic data.

Authorities said the evidence and chargesheet have been formally submitted to the court, and further investigation is ongoing. The SIT indicated that additional charges are expected to be filed as evidence collection continues and is verified.
