At Fontwell Park on Wednesday, the tigerbet.co.uk Extra Place Races Novices’ Limited Handicap Hurdle featured several notable contenders, including the French-bred I LOVE YOU SIVOLA. After a period of underwhelming performances under trainer Helen Nelmes, the four-year-old rebounded strongly with a victory in an eight-runner handicap hurdle at Hereford last week. Despite facing a 7-pound penalty and a reduction in race distance by half a mile, Max Comley’s newly acquired charge is expected to handle the trip well, given the horse’s prior experience and form over shorter distances in France.

Meanwhile, at Worcester, LIMIER D’ARTHEL is highlighted as a promising runner in the Squarcle Sprint Handicap Hurdle. Trained by Philip Hobbs and Johnson White, the horse has a French background and was a noteworthy bumper winner on the continent. After a 22-month absence, LIMIER D’ARTHEL made a disappointing hurdle debut at Huntingdon in January, falling during the race. However, he has since shown improvement with placed finishes in maiden hurdle events and is regarded as having considerable potential moving forward in handicap company. The horse runs in the colors of J P McManus.

At Newmarket, CALLIANASSA is favored in the CopyBet Follow Us On X Fillies’ Handicap following her first victory on turf at York just 11 days earlier. Her recent success positions her as a leading candidate in the field at Newmarket this afternoon.

Overall, these selections reflect a mix of returning talent and emerging potential across several racecourses, with trainers and owners aiming to capitalize on previous form and recent improvements ahead of today’s contests.
