Whitehawk Football Club has announced a change in leadership following the departure of manager Jay Lovett. Lovett stepped down from his position citing difficulties in balancing his coaching responsibilities with the commitment required to lead the club effectively.

Lovett, who had been managing Whitehawk FC, described his decision as one made with a "heavy heart." He emphasized the need for full dedication to the role, stating that his other day-to-day coaching commitments made it challenging to provide the club with the time and focus it deserves.

In response, the club has appointed team captain Andy Kember as the new manager. Kember, who has been a long-serving player at Whitehawk, expressed gratitude for the opportunity and confidence in his new role. He acknowledged the trust placed in him by the club’s board of directors and expressed enthusiasm for working with both players and staff to advance the team's position.

Assisting Kember at the Enclosed Ground will be Stuart Booth, a long-time member of the coaching staff and college. Together, they aim to build on the existing foundation and strive toward success for the club and its supporters.

Kember stated, “It’s a real honour, and I’m excited to get started, working with the players and staff to help drive the club forward from its current position. I’m looking forward to the challenge and giving everything I have to bring success to the club and its supporters.”

The transition follows a period of reflection by Lovett on the demands of modern football management and the necessity of full engagement to sustain competitive performance. The club hopes the fresh leadership will help Whitehawk navigate the remainder of the season and achieve its objectives.
