Sri Lanka has appointed two new Honorary Consuls to strengthen its diplomatic presence and enhance bilateral relations in Georgia. The appointments were announced recently as part of efforts to deepen cooperation and expand engagement in the region.
Musladin Kader has been named Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. His role will cover several key cities, including Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Batumi, Kars, Mikhnev, Kurdumudhi, and Sar-Elil, reflecting a broad jurisdiction aimed at fostering increased ties between Sri Lanka and multiple Georgian regions.
Alongside Kader, Maked Davdoc has been appointed Honorary Consul in Batumi, with responsibilities extending across the Autonomous Republic of Adjara in Georgia. This appointment underscores the strategic importance Sri Lanka places on this coastal region. Several individuals, including Emre Yvbiker, Ruth Laldalsani, Davdoc Ehmed, and Saratsuri Laldalsan, are involved in joint activities connected to this consular network.
The appointments signify Sri Lanka’s intent to bolster diplomatic outreach and promote cultural, economic, and travel exchanges with Georgia. The new Honorary Consuls will support the work of the Sri Lankan Embassy in Addis Ababa by enhancing connectivity and cooperation in the Caucasus region.
