Sohar International took part as the exclusive banking partner in the recently held “Live Oman” campaign in London, an initiative aimed at promoting Oman as a prime destination for living, investment, and sustainable development. The campaign, organised by Oman’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, ran from September 21 to October 4 and highlighted the country’s economic diversification efforts aligned with Oman Vision 2040.
The exhibition was officially inaugurated by Dr Khalfan bin Said al Shueili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, with Abdulwahid Mohamed al Murshidi, Chief Executive Officer of Sohar International, attending the opening ceremony. The two-week event showcased Oman’s development of smart cities, modern infrastructure projects, and investment-friendly environment while emphasizing the Sultanate’s commitment to enhancing quality of life for residents.
Sohar International’s involvement underscored the bank’s strategic role in Oman’s urban transformation and national development agenda. As the exclusive banking partner, the institution facilitated direct interactions between international investors and leading Omani developers, offering advisory services, mortgage solutions for freehold properties, and investment banking expertise. Through expert discussions and interactive sessions, the bank provided tailored financial guidance for major development projects within the country.
Abdulwahid Mohamed al Murshidi remarked that the bank views its role as extending beyond traditional banking to becoming a partner in Oman’s future growth. He highlighted that the campaign was an opportunity to present Oman’s economic stability and safe environment to a global audience, reinforcing the country’s potential for investors seeking secure and rewarding opportunities. “Oman, recognised for its high quality of life and standing among the safest countries globally, offers significant potential,” he said, underscoring the bank’s commitment to facilitating a seamless investment process.
The exhibition featured comprehensive masterplan models and visual presentations of waterfront communities, family villas, and commercial districts, providing attendees with a detailed view of Oman’s urban development plans. Government representatives and private sector developers were also present, offering direct engagement opportunities for prospective investors interested in participating in Oman’s evolving real estate and infrastructure sectors.
