Soho House is set to open a new location in Venice Beach in the summer of 2027, taking over the 23,000-square-foot building previously occupied by NeueHouse before the latter’s abrupt closure amid bankruptcy last year. The new venue will mark Soho House’s fifth outpost in the Los Angeles area and will be situated just two blocks from the beach.

NeueHouse, an exclusive members-only workspace and social club, shuttered its Venice Beach location alongside all other sites following a Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing 11 months ago. Its departure drew little regret from longtime Venice residents, many of whom have watched the neighborhood evolve from a countercultural enclave to a more upscale, gentrified community.

Soho House has made limited public comments about the Venice launch but has shared some details on its website, including membership pricing at $6,000 annually and plans to feature its first “Health Club Cafe” at the site. The venue aims to serve not only Venice but also neighboring communities such as Mar Vista, Marina Del Rey, and Playa Vista.

Reactions to Soho House’s expansion into Venice have been mixed. A longtime Soho House member expressed concerns about the brand’s increasing ubiquity, comparing it to the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program and suggesting the exclusivity of membership may be diminishing.

In contrast, local real estate expert Tami Pardee viewed the development positively, describing the move as “a brilliant” one that will introduce a different atmosphere than NeueHouse’s previous iteration. Pardee added that the new location could fill a gap in the market by catering to several nearby neighborhoods.

Since its flagship West Hollywood club launched in 2010, Soho House has expanded in the Los Angeles area with additional venues in Malibu, downtown LA, and Holloway. The forthcoming Venice Beach club is expected to further reinforce the brand’s presence and appeal in the region.
