Underbelly, the entertainment company behind a popular performing arts venue in Soho, central London, has announced it will close its Boulevard Soho location in January 2027. The decision comes amid rising operational costs and broader economic difficulties impacting the live entertainment sector.

The venue, which has hosted prominent performers including comedian Michael McIntyre and actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge, cited financial pressures as the main reason for its closure. In a statement, Underbelly acknowledged that the economic challenges currently facing the industry represent a hurdle they are unable to overcome.

Boulevard Soho has been a notable destination for live performances and cultural events, contributing to the vibrant arts scene in London’s West End. However, increased expenses and challenging market conditions have strained profitability, prompting the company to make the difficult decision to cease operations at this site.

Underbelly did not specify if there are plans to relocate or open new venues elsewhere.
