Pasadena police arrested a 24-year-old man early on September 19 after he allegedly struck his father with a vehicle during a family dispute, leaving the elder man severely injured. The incident occurred shortly after midnight on Mooresque Drive, authorities reported.

According to Pasadena Police Lt. Monica Cuellar, officers responded to a call regarding a family disturbance at 12:31 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found the suspect, identified as Jack Modrzejewski of Pasadena, attempting to leave the scene while appearing heavily intoxicated. The victim, later identified as Chris Modrzejewski, reportedly tried to block the vehicle to prevent his son from driving away.

Lt. Cuellar detailed that Jack Modrzejewski then accelerated the vehicle, a Ford Bronco, hitting his father and knocking him onto the hood before he ultimately fell onto the roadway. Afterward, the suspect fled but collided with a city power pipe near the intersection of Glen Oaks Boulevard and Manford Way. He continued driving to a friend’s residence on Linda Vista Avenue, where police took him into custody.

Chris Modrzejewski sustained significant injuries, including major trauma to his left leg and pelvis, according to police. He was transported to a medical facility for treatment.

Jack Modrzejewski is employed by LA28, the organization responsible for coordinating the upcoming Olympic Games in Los Angeles, based on his LinkedIn profile. His father, Chris Modrzejewski, is a principal at M Strategic Communications, a prominent lobbying firm with strong ties to Los Angeles City Hall. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
