South Park’s unbeaten streak ended at eight games following a 2-1 defeat to Whitstable at home on Saturday.

The opening goal came in the 23rd minute when Danny Moody set up Cerny Ando, who directed a powerful header into the far corner of the net. South Park appeared to be in control in the first half, with goalkeeper Baldwin Kaluya making a key save from Kane Rowland. However, Whitstable found an equalizer before halftime when Rowland scored from close range in the 35th minute.

In the second half, both sides created opportunities as Ted Sullivan missed a chance for South Park and TJ Jadama’s long-range effort went over the bar for Whitstable. Kaluya again denied Whitstable with a save from a shot by Jadama.

The decisive moment came in the 75th minute when Mikey Berry capitalized on space inside the South Park penalty area and scored from about 15 yards out, giving Whitstable a 2-1 lead. South Park pushed forward looking for an equalizer, with Alex Body narrowly missing a header off a cross. Despite efforts in the closing stages, South Park were unable to find the net, ending their run without defeat.
