SpaceX has filed for regulatory approval to construct a natural gas pipeline in Brevard County, Florida, as part of efforts to support its rocket launch operations at Cape Canaveral. A subsidiary of the company, Coastal Connect Services, submitted a request to the Florida Public Service Commission in September seeking the establishment of a tariff for the proposed pipeline.

The planned infrastructure would consist of a 32.4-mile natural gas transmission pipeline with a diameter of 16 inches, intended to provide a reliable fuel supply for SpaceX’s launch facilities in the region. Brevard County is a key location within the company’s launch network, and the pipeline is expected to enhance operational efficiency by delivering fuel directly to the site.

The regulatory filing marks a significant step in SpaceX’s strategy to expand and modernize its fuel supply chain to support increasing launch demands. The company aims to ensure a steady and cost-effective natural gas flow, which is critical for powering ground support equipment and possibly production processes associated with its rocket operations.

The Florida Public Service Commission will review the proposal to determine the tariff structure and assess any potential environmental and community impacts before granting final approval. If approved, the project would reinforce SpaceX’s logistical capabilities in Florida, complementing its ongoing developments at Cape Canaveral.
