A specialist medical team from Meiktila People’s Hospital provided healthcare services to residents of Thazi Township, Mandalay Region, on July 31. The team, led by Dr. Win Min Thiri, medical superintendent of the 200-bed hospital, offered examinations and treatments at Thazi People’s Hospital in Meiktila District.
The outreach initiative worked in coordination with the Thazi Township Medical Services Department, headed by Dr. Sai Zeya Myo, along with local healthcare staff. A total of 698 patients were treated during the visit, with cases spanning multiple specialties.
Among the patients, 154 were treated for general medicine conditions, 45 for surgical concerns, 66 for orthopaedic issues, 59 for obstetrics and gynecological matters, and 23 pediatric cases were seen. The team also addressed 150 eye disease cases, 58 musculoskeletal disorders, 47 dental problems, 30 ear, nose, and throat (ENT) cases, and 66 dermatology cases.
Following initial assessments, 24 patients were referred for further treatment to Meiktila General Hospital. These referrals included 12 general medicine patients, one pediatric patient, five surgical cases, five orthopaedic cases, and one obstetrics and gynecology case.
The medical outreach aimed to expand access to specialized care for residents of both urban wards and nearby villages within Thazi Township, responding to local healthcare needs and improving service delivery in the Mandalay Region.
