Sony and Marvel’s latest Spider-Man installment, "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," starring Tom Holland, generated an estimated $355 million during its opening weekend in North America, marking the second-highest domestic debut in box office history. The figure trails only "Avengers: Endgame" (2019), which took in $357 million during its initial U.S. release, according to data from Box Office Mojo, without adjusting for inflation.
The film features Holland reprising his role as Peter Parker alongside Zendaya, Mark Ruffalo, Florence Pugh, and Sadie Sink. The storyline centers on Parker living in isolation after erasing his identity, as he faces both personal transformation and new challenges.
Industry analyst David A. Gross of Franchise Entertainment Research described the release as "a colossal opening," noting the lack of major action films in the preceding nine weeks created substantial demand. "The market is ripe-ripe-ripe for this film," Gross said.
Internationally, "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" earned approximately $573 million, bringing its global box office total to around $928 million, according to figures from Exhibitor Relations. This installment marks the ninth live-action film featuring the Spider-Man character, previously portrayed by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
