A 20-year-old man dressed as Spider-Man stepped in to assist a wheelchair user crossing a busy street in Jonesboro, Arkansas, earlier this week. Christopher Hellenthal, who had just attended a superhero-themed event, noticed the individual struggling to navigate the road and quickly acted to ensure their safety.

According to Hellenthal, he was still wearing his Spider-Man costume when he saw the person having difficulty crossing. Without hesitation, he exited his vehicle and helped wheel the individual across the street just moments before the traffic lights changed. The incident occurred during midday traffic, prompting Hellenthal to describe a rush of adrenaline that motivated his swift response.

The episode was captured on nearby CCTV and later shared by local police on social media, where officers commended Hellenthal’s prompt and caring actions. Hellenthal, a resident of Lake City, said he has been a longtime fan of the Spider-Man character and once had the opportunity to meet Stan Lee, the Marvel co-creator of the superhero.

Packy Magel, manager at Ultimate Air Trampoline Park—the venue where the superhero event had taken place—recognized Hellenthal in the video. Magel commented that such an act was typical of Hellenthal’s character and noted it was not unusual for him to remain in costume after events.
