The Public Authority for Sports in Kuwait approved several measures aimed at enhancing the country’s sports infrastructure and supporting local federations during its 27th board meeting on Wednesday. The session was chaired by Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs Dr. Tareq Al-Jalahma.

Among the key decisions, the Board allocated a plot of land to the Kuwait Handball Federation to facilitate its development plans and future projects intended to elevate the sport’s competitive standards. The Authority emphasized coordination with relevant bodies to expedite the legal and administrative processes required to implement the approved initiatives.

The Board also approved the disbursement of annual subsidies to both the Kuwait Sports for All Federation and the Kuwait School and Higher Education Sports Federation. These funds are intended to support sports activities and promote a culture of sports participation across various segments of society. This move aligns with the Authority’s broader strategy to strengthen sports federations and foster an environment conducive to achieving success in regional and international competitions.

Additionally, the Board sanctioned coverage of land travel expenses for sports entities competing in events abroad, including training camps and international tournaments, specifically mentioning the participation of Al-Qadsia Club and Kuwait Club. This measure aims to facilitate Kuwaiti teams' engagement in global competitions.

In another important decision, the Board approved an exemption allowing partially professional players to be exempt from the existing age requirement clause. This regulatory adjustment is designed to introduce greater flexibility, balance organizational needs with player development, and enhance competition levels by increasing field experience among athletes.

Finally, the Board endorsed the annual inspection and audit plan for the Authority’s administrative units for the fiscal year 2026-2027. These approvals reflect ongoing efforts to improve governance and operational efficiency within Kuwait’s sports sector.
