Doubletree by Hilton Malaysia is currently showcasing the diverse regional flavors of the country through a nationwide culinary campaign running until the end of September. The initiative aims to offer diners an immersive experience of Malaysia’s rich gastronomic heritage by featuring authentic dishes from various states at its Makan Kitchen restaurants across the country.

Linda Pecoraro, Hilton Malaysia’s regional general manager, emphasized the significance of food in connecting people and cultures. At the campaign launch held at Doubletree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur, she noted that "Flavours of Malaysia" not only highlights the country’s culinary diversity but also the stories and traditions behind each dish.

The participating hotels include locations in Shah Alam i-City, Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, Putrajaya Lakeside, Penang, Damai Laut Resort, and Melaka, offering guests either high tea or dinner menus depending on the venue.

The campaign features a range of signature dishes representative of Malaysia’s regional specialties. For example, guests can sample Sarawak’s offerings such as Tempra Prawns with Bean Curd Chap Chye and Sea Grapes, which combine fresh seafood with crisp vegetables. Another highlighted dish from Sarawak is the Kerabu Chicken served with Buah Keluak puree, compressed watermelon skin, and Sarawak pepper—a modern take on traditional flavors intended to leave a lasting impression.

From Penang, diners may enjoy Char Kway Teow made with duck egg, as well as Nyonya Durian Bubur Cha-Cha, a dessert presented in delicate white chocolate cups. Negri Sembilan’s culinary contributions include Lompar Lamb Short Ribs and the traditional kuih Sopang, while Kedah is represented with dishes like Gulai Daging Rias Pisang and a spicy Kerabu Pucuk Paku salad featuring cockle meat and bean sprouts.

Perak’s specialties on offer include Ayam Masak Tuha and Paisan Iwak Jenahak, while Melaka presents free-range Ayam Kapitan alongside the classic dessert Onde Onde served with Inang Inang rice crackers. Kuala Lumpur’s Chinese culinary heritage is also celebrated in dishes like Imperial Lotus Braised Duck Encased in Clay and Thin Rice Noodle with Tea Smoked Sustainable Seabass paired with a signature sweet sesame sauce.

The campaign offers diners the chance to explore Malaysia’s culinary landscape under one roof, drawing attention to the country’s varied food culture and encouraging appreciation of its regional flavors and traditions. The promotion is set to conclude on September 30.
