Saudi traffic authorities have announced a penalty of up to SR6,000 for individuals who conduct unauthorized car races or drive in convoys on public roads without securing the necessary permits. According to a statement posted on the Traffic Department’s official X platform account, the minimum fine imposed for such violations is SR3,000.

The department emphasized that these illegal activities not only disrupt normal traffic flow but also endanger the safety of other road users. To address the issue, both field and undercover teams from traffic departments in various Saudi cities are actively working to identify and apprehend drivers involved in these unlicensed racing events.

Those caught participating in unauthorized racing or convoy driving are referred to the relevant authorities for further action. The move highlights the authorities’ commitment to enforcing traffic regulations and enhancing road safety across the kingdom.
