A man in his 30s was critically injured following a stabbing in Brisbane’s southern suburb of Wishart in the early hours of Saturday. Emergency services arrived at a residence shortly after 4 a.m. in response to reports of a stabbing, and the victim was transported to hospital in a critical condition.

Police indicated that the stabbing occurred during an alleged assault. They confirmed that another man, who is known to the injured individual, is currently assisting them with their inquiries.

According to a nearby resident named Zane, two vehicles were heard speeding down the street around 11 p.m. on Friday, followed by a group of people exiting the cars and shouting loudly. "I heard them get out of the cars and speak so loudly I could hear them all the way down the street," he said, adding that the confrontation seemed heated, though he could not discern the subject of the yelling.

Zane reported that after several hours of quiet, the shouting resumed approximately four hours later. He also noted that the residence had frequently seen a number of visitors who often engaged in similar activity, including racing vehicles down the street.

Police have not released further details about the circumstances leading up to the stabbing or the identities of those involved as the investigation continues.
