A woman was arrested following a stabbing incident in Covent Garden, one of London’s busiest tourist areas, on Wednesday afternoon. Four men suffered minor injuries in the attack, which police believe is linked to a mental health issue.

The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. when a 47-year-old woman allegedly used a pair of scissors to attack the men. Authorities detained her on suspicion of assault and possession of an offensive weapon. Police recovered the scissors from the scene.

Witnesses working nearby described the response by law enforcement, noting the use of tasers to subdue the woman. Ahmad, a waiter at a local restaurant, said officers pursued the woman, who was reportedly holding a knife, and resorted to using a taser to compel her to drop the weapon. The woman is known locally as a homeless individual frequently seen in the area.

The four male victims, aged 34, 39, 42, and 52, were transported to hospital for treatment. Two remained admitted with injuries that police said were not considered life-threatening or life-changing, while the other two were released within hours.

Chief Superintendent Jason Stewart stated that authorities view the incident as isolated and related to mental health concerns. Investigations remain ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the attack.
