The Statutes Fair is set to return to Burton town centre from October 4 to 6, offering a range of attractions and entertainment for residents and visitors. Operated by Pat Collins Fun Fairs, the event will take place across the Market Place and adjacent streets including High Street, Lichfield Street, New Street, Manor Croft, and Manor Drive.

The fair will open daily at 12:30 p.m. on October 4, and at noon on October 5 and 6, with closing times at 11 p.m. on all three days. Preparations for the event will begin on the evening of October 3, when fairground staff will arrive to set up the rides and stalls. To facilitate construction and subsequent dismantling, a series of road and car park closures will be implemented starting at 4 p.m. on October 3 and will remain in place until 6 a.m. on October 7. This will allow time for the fair’s removal, street cleaning, and the resumption of normal traffic and business activity.

The affected roads and their respective closures are as follows: Market Place will be fully closed to all traffic; High Street will be closed to through traffic from Station Street to Lichfield Street; New Street will be closed from its junction with High Street to Union Street; Lichfield Street will be closed between High Street and Bond Street; and Abbey Street will be closed from Lichfield Street to Fleet Street.

Pat Collins Fun Fairs has a long-standing connection to Burton upon Trent, spanning more than a century. The Statutes Fair traces its origins to the traditional labour hiring fairs historically held in the town each year shortly after Michaelmas.

Paul Walker, cabinet member for East Staffordshire Borough Council, expressed support for the event’s return. He noted the fair’s role in enlivening the town’s streets and providing enjoyment to both local residents and visitors, and extended his best wishes for a successful event.
