Kuwait Telecommunications Company (stc) recently concluded its platinum sponsorship and participation in two major national events aimed at youth empowerment and talent development: the Watheefti Career Fair and the Kuwait Cyber Security League Hackathon. Both events took place in Kuwait City in October 2026 and underscored stc’s ongoing commitment to supporting Kuwaiti youth, fostering digital skills, and strengthening the local workforce.

Watheefti Career Fair, Kuwait’s largest national career fair, was held under the patronage of Dr. Tareq Hamad Al-Jalahma, Minister of State for Youth and Sport Affairs. The opening ceremony was also attended by Eng. Rabab Abdullah Mazeed Al-Osaimi, Director General of the Public Authority for Manpower, along with senior officials and representatives from various organizations. Ahmad Al Murad, Chief Business Excellence Officer at stc, led the company’s delegation at the event and participated in a tour of the fair, during which they engaged with participating employers and explored opportunities available to job seekers.

The Kuwait Cyber Security League Hackathon, held on October 16 at the Grand Hyatt Kuwait, formed part of stc’s platinum sponsorship. The event featured a national Capture the Flag (CTF) competition that brought together university teams to compete in areas such as web security, digital forensics, network security, and reverse engineering. The hackathon provided students an opportunity to apply their technical knowledge, tackle complex cybersecurity challenges, and showcase their skills in ethical hacking and digital defense.

The award ceremony for the hackathon was conducted in the presence of Dr. Tareq Hamad Al-Jalahma and Eng. Manal Al-Mazyad, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA), in addition to representatives from the National Cybersecurity Center. stc recognized several teams for their outstanding performance during the competition.

Commenting on the company’s role, Ahmad Al Murad highlighted the importance of direct engagement with Kuwaiti talent. He noted that the career fair facilitates open dialogue between young professionals and companies, helping both sides better understand expectations and opportunities. Al Murad also emphasized that the hackathon allowed stc to connect with emerging cybersecurity experts and recognize the strong capabilities present within Kuwait’s technology community.

stc’s involvement in the two events forms part of its broader corporate social responsibility strategy, which prioritizes education and youth empowerment. The company has supported Watheefti for four consecutive years, using the platform to attract national talent and improve access to private-sector careers. By supporting initiatives like the Kuwait Cyber Security League, stc aims to nurture specialized skills and provide young people with practical experience that will enable them to contribute to Kuwait’s ongoing digital and technological development.
