Southern California law firm Stubbs Alderton & Markiles, LLP (SA&M) has announced the addition of Steven N. Kurtz as a new partner. Kurtz will take on the role of chair for the firm’s newly established Commercial Finance, Insolvency & Specialty Lending Practice Group, while also participating in other existing practice areas.

Kurtz brings extensive experience in commercial finance and corporate transactions. His expertise includes representing creditors in matters related to bankruptcy, insolvency, and creditors’ rights, as well as handling related litigation. Beyond litigation, he frequently serves as an expert witness and consultant. Additionally, Kurtz provides outside general counsel services to several factoring and asset-based lending companies.

With his diverse background and multi-faceted approach, Kurtz’s appointment is expected to strengthen SA&M’s capabilities in structured finance and insolvency-related practices. The move aligns with the firm’s broader efforts to expand its leadership and services in the commercial finance sector.
