Stocksbridge Park Steels took an early lead against Dunston but ultimately suffered a heavy defeat in their recent encounter. The match began with the Steels opening the scoring within two minutes, when Tom Shepherd secured possession inside the box and set up their newly appointed captain, Tommy Marshall, who converted from close range.
However, Dunston quickly responded to level the score. A well-executed team move created space for JJ O’Donnell to finish and bring the game back on terms. O’Donnell continued to pose a significant threat, replicating the successful play to score a second goal and put Dunston ahead.
In the second half, Dunston extended their advantage further. A swift counter-attack culminated in a goal from David Robinson. Later in the match, a defensive lapse by Stocksbridge Park Steels allowed Wilson Kneeshaw to capitalize and add a fourth goal, sealing Dunston’s comprehensive victory.
Despite the promising start, Stocksbridge Park Steels were unable to maintain their lead as Dunston demonstrated greater efficiency in front of goal and tighter defensive play to secure the win.
